Onya McCausland

Biography

Onya McCausland (b.  Cornwall, 1971)  studied Fine Art at Falmouth School of Art graduating with a BA in 1994 and completed an MFA at the Slade School of Fine Art in 1999.  She went on to achieve her practice-led PhD in 2017 from the Slade School of Fine Art. 

 

Selected exhibitions include: Working on it,  Helsinki Contemporary, Finland (2020); Five Colours / Five Landscapes, University College London Cloisters, London (2018); The Edge of Printing, The Keepers House, Royal Academy of Arts (2016); Turning Landscape into Colour, Camden Arts Centre, London (2014); John Moores Painting Prize, Walker Gallery, Liverpool (2012); Summer Exhibition, Royal Academy of Arts, London, where she was shortlisted for the Wollaston Prize for Most Outstanding Work (2011).

 

Residencies include: English Red Earth, Gloucester Cathedral (2008);  Slade School of Fine Art, UCL, London (2011); Drawing Spaces Fabrica Braco de Prata, Lisbon, Portugal (2009).

 
McCausland teaches at Slade School of Fine Art, University College London. She lives and works in London.
